“Welcome to Zero-Based Budget! My name is Cindy and I am an attorney living in New York City (where I was born and raised!).
After graduating law school in June 2015 with over $200,000 of debt, I found myself overwhelmed and, quite frankly, confused. With the help of the Internet and a few good personal finance books, I took control of my finances and began my financial freedom journey in January 2016. Since starting my debt payoff journey, I have paid off over HALF of my student loans and have learned a thing or two along the way. In early 2018, I decided to create an Instagram account to document my debt payoff journey and share financial tidbits intended to simplify personal finance concepts. That account led to this page!
